OUR FARM & MARKET GARDEN

WE ARE PART OF THE COMMUNITY

Our Market garden is being restored thanks to a number of small grant funds and selling produce through our Community Supported Agriculture scheme that provides a season of guaranteed income. It is also supported by a community of volunteers that help grow our veg and we hope learn lots of new skills in the process. Our only wish is to not grow alone!

A FARM IN THE CITY

We are part of a demonstration and educational mixed working farm in the heart of the city of Leeds. Home to many animals, including rare breeds, gardens, woodlands, wet meadow and now our booming market garden and orchard.

PROUD TO BE SMALL SCALE

In the UK, our scale of food growing is usually termed ‘micro’, people just don’t usually grow on such small amounts of land! That’s not to say we shouldn’t. On a small scale, we can create a much more complex and resilient system that meets the needs of the producers and consumers more directly.

COOPERATING WITH NATURE

Our growing practices draw from both organic, no dig and permaculture principles. We do not use chemicals, we work to eliminate all single-use plastics and we seek to be resourceful, self-reliant and cooperate with natural ecosystems in all that we do.
